For the past 20 years I have centered my research efforts on the piano music of Brazilian com- poser Francisco Mignone (1897-1986). Although Mignone enjoyed wide recognition during his lifetime, today his name is still relatively unknown outside of his home country.Francisco Mignone’s creative life spanned a period of seventy years, during which he composed prolifically in all the major genres and for a wide variety of instruments. The mission of the Center for Creative Media is to utilize the resources of the Central Michigan University School of Music to create high quality musical products of unique cultural and scholarly merit.
