Central Michigan University
Symphonic Wind Ensemble,
Directed by John E. Williamson
The well-established and prolific relationship between David Gillingham and the CMU Symphonic Wind Ensemble, conducted by John E. Williamson, is celebrated in a new CD, entitled “Double Star.” The CD contains live performances of four of Dr. Gillingham’s works for band. Double Star features faculty artists Alexandra Mascolo-David, piano and Kennen White, clarinet. Also included is Concerto for Horn with faculty soloist Bruce Bonnell. Double Image features saxophone soloists Jeffrey Heisler and Shawn Teichmer, CMU alumni who commissioned the piece. No Shadow of Turning was performed by the SWE at the CBDNA National Conference in 2007 and receives a moving rendition here. The CD can be purchased by clicking the link to the right.
